i'm going insane.

Its been 48 hours after an increase. Before the increase we were stuck in the 300's and now after the increase we are STILL stuck in the 300's. Lantus. Alphatrak.

What the hell am i doing wrong!?!? Its been 6 months since his diagnosis and we STILL cant get him regulated. I feel like throwing up.

This cant be NDW at this point. Should i lower his dose? We increased it because he was in the 300's. No idea what to do.

Don't get disheartened at 6 months and he's not regulated. I've been doing this for over 2 years with one of my diabetics and still nowhere near regulation. Some cats are like that.

Looking at Mr Biddles' spreadsheet he seemed to be doing better on 4.0IU. I suggest you ask one of the more experienced Lantus users (e.g. @Chris & China) to have a look at Mr Biddles' spreadsheet. If it were my cat's spreadsheet, I'd be wondering whether it might have been better to have increased to 4.25IU instead of 4.5IU but that's just what I might do and I've only got experience of using Lantus for my own cat, and certainly not at that high a dose. I don't go to the L&L group because I've never been able to cope with the way the board operates (too busy - makes me feel terribly panicked and overwhelmed) but the more experienced members there might be able to help you.

I feel like throwing up.

That is a feeling I know oh-so-well, Jen, and my heart goes out to you.

Jen, I'm sorry you are feeling like you are getting no where with Mr. Biddles insulin treatment. I'm going to invite you over to the Lantus insulin support group where experienced Lantus users will see your plea for help more quickly. Click here to go there
It is a very very very busy board with many messages a day, but the people who know Lantus are there posting each day and so I find it to be very helpful to post there when I need help. Your question will be answered more quickly if you put a blue ? in your title and if you say something like I'm new here and I need dosing help or whatever you need help with.
