Can't find any Prozinc-HELP

I tried calling on Tabby's refill of Prozinc and was told they were sold out and back ordered. I also tred te vets office and no luck. I also checked 5 online places and no go there either. Does anyone have any info on this? Or do you know where I can buy some. Thank you for any info you can give me.
 
There was a thread on this earlier this summer. Here are a couple ideas:

I just called BCP Veterinary Pharmacy in Houston and they have the PZI Bovine insulin.
It has 1 amino acid difference than ProZinc. It comes in U40 and U100 strength.
This is probably what we will get our vet to call in a prescription for in place of ProZinc until it is avaulable again.
I spoke to the pharmacist there and was assured there was no problem getting it; they have been compounding it for 10 years.
They will ship to overnight on ice to your vet clinic or directly to you after they get the prescription from your vet.


DCIN posted on their FB page this morning they got word that 1800petmeds got a shipment of 89 boxes in in case anyone wants to get an order in. your vet will need to call or fax in a scrip.

Also CJ & Oreo posted that her vet's supplier got a large shipment in August 9. You might send her a pm and get the info.

DCIN is diabetic cats in need (venita wood) who you may remember from the old days. How much insulin do you have left? Even though it is on back order it appears they are releasing it in batches. I had my vet get on the list with her supplier and shortly after they released 2batches of insulin. I received my order from the 2nd batch and it took about 10 days. I don't know how often they are releasing batches though. At one point someone said 800 pet meds received a large batch about the same time my vets supplier did.

Thanks for the link. And yes please send me info on your vets supplier. Maybe my vet can get me some. You can post here or pm me. I am kind of freaking out about this shortage.

I saw a post on another board where someone had called the manufacturer and was told that batches were being released to distributors this week.
My vet uses butler schschein animal health.

I had the same problem getting the insulin but thankfullly I lucked out and got 1 of the 6 bottles that were shipped to the vet. The vet said that there was a shortage... and it was hard to keep the supply in stock but they managed to get some because they said they needed it for the animals being boarded that had diabetes and they had NOTHING LEFT. I mean..that is crazy!

I hope you get your hands on it this week. I have a few vials in the fridge that are very low ( I never go down to the last drop) so if push came to shove I would have had to use the old vials.

I hope to get some soon. Tabby NLT has about 2 weeks left. I tod the vet pharmacy I would call everyday to check if they have it. They told me they will call me ASAP when they get some.
 
I have a pharmacy in NYC that had some and told me they wouldn't run out - I can get that name again - I didn't keep it but I did order a bottle from them and I will find the info if needed. They had plenty. My vet here in Sag Harbor New York also just got a big shipment. If it really gets to be a crisis for anyone on here I'll sell one of the bottles I have to you at my cost and buy myself another from my vet - as long as there is a way to ensure that it has been prescribed to your cat - I don't want to do anything wrong here. But I know how panicked I was when I had only a week left and was told everyone was out.
