Canned Food without By-products (Canada/US)

Hello folks,

I have been using Fancy Feast or similar formulas which are sold in Ontario, Canada as house-brands at Canadian Tire or Sobey's. I stick to the Chicken pate flavours, cause my kitty is sensitive to beef and fish.

Now I want to stop using food with By-products, because it is reported to be a lesser quality of protein. But I'm on a limited budget, so 'Premium" brands are not an option.

Does anyone have suggestions on canned foods that don't use meat/poultry-by products, are reasonably affordable, and are suitable for diabetic kitties?

I have 1 possible option, but it's a newer brand: Nutrience Chicken flavour sold at Petsmart (Large can 13 oz. at $2Cad). Does anyone have other suggestions?

I had found these ones (but I'de re-check to make sure none has by-products), but I cant tell if they are expensive or not:

- Tikicat canned food (any flavor! They are just great!... but expensive depending where you buy them)

Otherwise you could do the recipe yourself! There is round that is circulating a lot on this forum, but first you have to make sure your cat's renal values are not starting to get high (getting closer to CRF- crhonic renal failure). If your cat's results are ok (except for glucose of course), you can feed your cat with Dr. Lisa Pierson's recipe :

The Wellness Core and Wellness grain free are two possibilities. Except for the Indoor formula, and Salmon/Whitefish/Herring, these are all 4-8% carbs per Dr. Lisa Pierson's food chart.

Looked up a few Canadian prices and found $2.29 CAD for 5.5 oz can and $3.59 CAD for 12.5 oz can at petacular.com
$1.99 CAD for 5.5 oz at Petsmart in Ontario.
