I've tried to compare the Canadian FF Pâté Salmon Feast Gourmet Cat Food - 85 gr with something similar that is sold in the US. I read somewhere that the Classic Savory Salmon was the same thing. On the tin's ingredients (Salmon Feast) it shows crude protein (min) 11%, fat (min) 4%, moisture (max) 78%, fibre (max) 1.5%, ash (max) 3.25%, and calories = 88/can. The US product, FF Classic Savory Salmon Feast, shows 27, 72, 1. Another lists it with 50, 18.2, 2. I emailed the company for clarification, but got no response. All I want to know (for certain) is whether or not the Canadian Salmon Feast is low carb, and how much that is. My diabetic cat will only eat the FF salmon, so it's important to know if I'm feeding him a decent food. Strange, but the Canadian label shows that it is made in the US!

No clue. The can size is the same.

I went to chewy.com to get the US numbers and they are very close to the CDN.

Have you tried the PC Salmon - the small can. The larger cans have different carb levels for some reason. I've always wondered if, with minor changes, PC gets the small cans from Purina (FF). Also the medium sized cans (Purina Friskies?).

The Savory Salmon pate is ok to feed :) Though I would recommend only feeding fish flavours once a week at most for a few reasons. Fish flavours can often become an addiction, leaving them not wanting to eat other flavours, it’s one of the top allergens in cats and also the heavy metal content.

Just wanted to add to the pc brand, many of the small 3oz cans have dextrose (straight sugar) in the ingredient list.. so be sure to check the ingredients before purchasing - last I checked only 1 or 2 didn’t have it. The medium/larger cans don’t seem to have it but wouldn’t hurt to skim those ingredients too.

No clue on the Fancy Feast. I didn't feed it to my diabetic cat Neko. And as Kim says, feeding fish exclusively can be a problem. Fish can be high in PDBE's which has possible ties to endocrine diseases (hyperthyroidism, acromegaly).

Sorry, no help here. I don’t feed Fancy Feast either. I do commercial raw and when I need carbs I use the higher carb Weruva. I would try to rotate proteins though, Indi went through a tuna phase and it was tricky to get him to eat anything else, he was definitely an addict
