I just got home and found the "we missed you" slip in my door for my Lantus from canadadrugsonline.com. We plan to go pick it up first thing tomorrow morning - it is on ice correct? Any people experienced with this company that can give me piece of mind?

It should be packed with ice packing--I did get from them last summer & it was delivered when I wasnt home--but all was well!

Generally if the box is marked "PERISHABLE" or "REFRIGERATE UPON ARRIVAL" they put it in the fridge in the UPS office :) you should be ok, if not I'm sure you can contact the company and state what happened. They should be able to send you another vial if there is a problem.

the insulin probably came with some cold packs and well packaged but by now they'd be room temperature, i'm guessing.
it shouldn't affect the effectiveness of the insulin, tho. i've had it arrive plenty of times like that and it's been perfectly good. if it's not i'm sure they'll give you a refund.

I just received my 3rd order of insulin from them. The ice packs have been melted, but the insulin has been fine, every time. I know it's hard not to worry, but I think everything will be fine.

It would be great if you could update when you get it - if it's cold, etc... I'm considering buying from there and I was wondering how long it would take to arrive and whether it would feel cool upon arrival or not. I'm just worried because it's hot out now. It'd be nice to know that UPS or whoever refrigerated it...

Mine came via the regular mail man, not UPS. The time before last; I ordered it on a Thursday and it arrived the next Thursday. This time; I called them to find out when it was shipped, and they shipped it on Friday July 2nd and it arrived the following Thursday (so 6 days even through the long 4th of July weekend). It was not cold, but was well wrapped in 2 melted ice packs and sealed in a BIG styrafoam box. It's sending through the winter months that I worry about. The insulin can not be frozen. So, I think I'll put in another order around September this year to be sure I don't run out in the winter time.

We picked it up from USPS today and the ice packs were melted but my DH said the box inside was still "cool to the touch." It would be nice if they would do tracking so you could be better prepared though!

good advice for ordering during the winter!
