What is a safe step back?
10, 20, 30, 40 or 60 minutes ?
As an example can I step back 15 minutes every dose to get to a convenient dose time?

Thanks!!

Hi George,

Absolutely. You can do 15 minutes each cycle or 30 minutes all at once per 24-hour day.

How many shots have you given so far? If it's only 1 shot, and the time you want to shoot isn't too far away from the time you actually shot, I would think it would be safe simply to go to your preferred schedule right away. Wait for another opinion, however!!

Good luck,

Ella

Hi George,

I agree with Ella. [1 shot=1 cycle] Since you have just given the 2nd shot this morning I also think you could just move to your more convenient time. How much of a difference is there? Hope things are going well with this new little one.

Ella is correct - the rule of thumb is 15 mins early per cycle or 30 mins early once in 24 hours is the safest way to go.

What kind of numbers are you seeing with Andre?

Thanks everyone.

When the vet tested him yesterday morning his BGs were 375. I have not checked them myself because he is already freaked out over all the meds and it is a struggle right now. I don't want to turn him sour on the whole process.

My dilemma was/is I shot him too late last night because of futzing around with all the meds and trying different ways of getting him to take them.

I shot him on time this morning at 11:00 a.m. The very latest I can shoot him will be 9:30 tomorrow morning before I run to work. That is an hour and a half difference.

Maybe I should skip tomorrow morning and shoot at 8:00 tomorrow eve. Otherwise it is two 45 minute drop backs.

I would not shoot 1 and 1/2 hours early tomorrow morning and then leave for the day to go to work.
An early shot is like a dose increase and a late shot is like a dose decrease. Skipping may be the best option.
Would 8:00pm and 8:00am be a good shot time schedule for you? I'm just saying, if you skip the shot, you can adjust the shot schedule to what would best fit your lifestyle.

Yes, that will have to do. I will shoot tonight at 11:00 pm on time and then skip and restart at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow night. At least he will have the "shed" working for him. A little bit is better than nothing.
