We have been OTJ since September 19, 2009 thanks to our friend here.

Today Milo has been crazy and hyper acting. I usually check him monthly but today I checked and he was 52. Question...can they go too low. Now this is a cat who drinks milk (had lucky charms milk this am), eats anything we eat. His new favorite is peanut butter on honey wheat bread. He eats low carb fancy feast, but lately I have been giving 1-2 cans weekly of the cheddar and chicken or cheddar and turkey flavors. Other than being crazy---following me around more than normal, not sleeping today, etc he is fine. Just didn't know if numbers can get too low. After checking I did give him some bread--- ate as fast as he could.

Thanks for any help....

Max will be OTJ for 6 months on the first of April, and he is routinely in the low to mid 50s to the low 60s. He will even throw me the occasional 40s. And he seems to be fine there. Also I periodically test all my civies and they are almost always in the low to mid 50s so I think that is just about what cats run.

Julius is recently OTJ (2 weeks today) and he has been anywhere from 32 to 66.... so 50's is good! 40-120 is normal as you know.. I have been fretting on here about Julius but everyone assures me he can't hypo and he seems to be adjusting to his new low numbers without insulin. Glad someone else on here was worried too!

That's a perfect number. No worries.

To answer your question, no. With the exception of a rare type of pancreatic tumour (and I don't think I have ever seen one on this board!), an OTJ kitty cannot hypo.

Enjoy the great BGs ... but no more bread for him!
