Cami 12/15 Day 4 & 12/16 Day 5

AM ~ 108

She is sitting higher - around 100 without ups and downs. Not sure if she will be able to keep herself below shootable numbers and/or bring herself back down to 70-85 range, which would probably be better.

Did not want overnight cuddles last night. Appetite might be a little off. She is back to being a grazer, which is great, but makes it hard to tell how much she is eating. She is still drinking a lot of water. At least I see her at the water bowl several times a day, where she parks for several minutes. Not sure what that is all about since her BG is well under renal threshold, her T4 is low, and her blood work does not show renal issues. Does not seem to be flooding the LB, so maybe she just takes her time at the water bowl and drinks slowly.

She did purr for the morning test and treats and I combed her afterwards for a few minutes more of purring. cat_pet_icon

Re: Camy 12/15 Day 4

Go Cami Go! KT does that at the water bowl also but truly doesn't drink a lot - he sits and stares at it like it was an old habit that he's trying to break. He may sit there for 5 minutes but doesn't drink but maybe a total of 2 minutes.

BIG HUG!!!

Re: Camy 12/15 Day 4

Autumn does the same thing with the water dish, she goes and takes little sips but stays there and stares at it for minutes at a time.

Re: Cami 12/15 Day 4

pm test was 119. I didn't do any mid day tests. I'm using the testing table to refinish a table  ....

She seems to be continuing the slow creep upwards. Might have to still give her a boost in a few days. My do not shoot number is 150.

She met my neighbor and friend today. Just sat quietly in the hall and let him pat her. I had been told that she was very shy around strangers and would not come to them. Former person was very surprised that she came to me the day I visited her (of course, I had chicken in my purse   ).

12/16

She was 97 this morning. Ate about an hour beforehand. So we are still counting down.

I'm starting to ween her off prozac. I started her at a 1/4 tab/day, then increased to 1/2 tab about three weeks ago. As far as I know (and my nose can tell) she has not peed outside the LB in a couple of weeks, although I have one box inside a crate with about 12" of carpet just inside and in front of the box, and I think she peed on that carpet once last week (someone did and she is the likely suspect). She did poop on the LR carpet about 3 days ago.

Anyway, I dropped her back to 1/4 tab today and will hold that for a week or two before going to every other day if all goes well.

Yesterday I checked the guest bdrm area rug that I had rolled up a couple of weeks ago. She had peed on it in two areas several times, each time I saturated it with Simple Solution or Nature's Miracle so I thought I had all the spots "out", but when I unrolled the rug, OMG, what a stink! Jeddie had peed on it a couple of times which I had also treated with SS or NM, but I must have not gotten all of them. Maybe that was the reason she peed on that rug to begin with. It's in the dumpster now and I mopped the vinyl tile floor it was on.

PM test was 105.

I was at my neighbor's and then my aunt's all day so no mid day tests again. I came home with deli meat in my shopping bag and was met at the door by some very interested cats - including Cami. The roast beef was a big hit at test time!

I got some new photos of her - will have to download them and post one or two of them.
