Good Morning evry' body!

Well, I don't know how I managed to allow myself to fall a sleep last night before even getting in 1 spot check! I am kinda upset by it.
Not to mention, I woke up late.
My amps were 9... :o

It USED to be 7:30 :o , then my girl got off the juice, I have had a lacking work schedule, and well, it's hot and I'm getting lazy.

At any rate, Callie weighed in this morning at 183, so I shot her .4

Rocky was 282, and I gave him .6

Maybe that was to much for Callie Mae?

I MOST DEFINITELY will get some spot checks going on today. No excuse. Fell a sleep early, woke up late, no work, definitely no excuses.

Any input on my doses this morning?

No comment on Callie Mae-- you do great by her, so I would follow your gut.

I like staying with the .6 for Rocky another cycle and getting some test. You have bookend preshots (about the same) from last night and this morning. That suggests to me a pretty good curve-- no spike at the end. I like the dose -- get some test and then you can see if there is room to increase.

Just my thoughts!

At +2, should I expect to see something happening, or is it really to early?

I'm confused by these numbers.

While Rocky seems to be heading in the right direction, 195, Callie Mae is doing the complete opposite, 206. :?

UUUgggggg, I wish I had a better understanding of all this. I COULD have continued researching all this stuff when Callie went on a honeymoon, but, I got lax and now am left holding the bag. Not to make it sound like I am taking advantage, but I am grateful that you guys have the patience to continue helping us newbies.

Remember--- ECID-- every cat is different. Some have quicker onsets than others. I have tested Kitty at +2 before and It it has been considerably higher than her Preshot.

Also remember, there is considered to be a +/- 20 percent variability in test -- so Callie really might not be any higher than her preshot. Yesterday she also had a slow onset. Just check again around +4-- it should give you a better picture.

You are doing fine!

Kim, you really are sounding like Sue, that's a good thing, it just struck me as funny!

No way are you taking advantage of anyone! That's what the board it for....geez I can barely shoot anything without consulting someone here & I've been here since April! You are doing good & are so kind taking Rocky in!

Ha! I was thinking the samething about sounding line Sue!

I can't wait to say ..... Breeaath!!!!!

I don't know why I let myself keep forgetting about the +/- 20% reading thing.
I probably wouldn't have as many gray hairs if I just branded this on my forehead!

Caregiving is hard work, so some extra sleep once in a while won't hurt. :) They will get back on schedule. Two diabetics to manage? I'm in awe. I've got enough problems managing my one girl.

Ok, I got the +/- 20% thing in mind. So by all accounts, Callie Mae isn't moving at all today.
I'm not gonna sweat it to much. Didn't consider it until now, but, she may be a little *more* stressed by the fact that I have my 9 year old nephew visiting. She isn't used to children, so, on top of a new kitty in her house, now we have a terror storm.

He is going home today, so we shall see. I'm not going to increase her dose. I believe she is fine with what she's getting, just to much stress.

me too. is it to early for wine?....

eta: I forgot to post her #'s....+4 is 187
Rocky is 258

Okay-- good on Callie Mae. You can see what she does when your nephew goes home.

Rocky is already going back up without much drop. Check him at pmps- his dose might warrant an increase. Let's see what his pmps is and go from there.

Hopefully some of the people will be back from the "convention" by 8:30 tonight and can give your some insight.

And--- It is NEVER too early for wine in PZI land!!! You are going to fit it just perfect!!!

yea, Rocky may be in need of a higher dose.
His +6 shows he is still about the same +4, 258--+6, 255.
Depending on his ps #, I may just go ahead and bump him up to .8.

As far as Callie Mae is concerned, well, she's quite the trooper for putting up with all this. My nephew is staying another night, and when I went to give her a mid-afternoon snack, I realized she still hadn't eaten her breakfast. Not good to not eat. Poor thing. She was doing so good to, until I went and wreaked all this havoc on her life. I pray that I can get her back in remission after all this is done and over.

Knowing the stress and not eating are the reasons why I'm getting #'s like that for her, would it be wise to just keep her where I have her, or would she probably fair better from a little larger bump as well?

I am not good at this, but I am thinking maybe keep Callie Mae where she is since it is stress related
maybe try to separate her a lttle from your nephew and Rocky if you can...
I know easier said than done...and give her a little extra food since she has not eaten.

FOr Rocky I am not sure how long you have had him on the .8...If it has been more than 3 days I would
bump up but if not I think I would hold....

Now lets wait for someone else to advise

Hang inthere, you are doing great, and the saying goes " Its 5oclock somewhere!!"

so no never too early for wine!!

I am not sure about Callie Mae. You had such success with her earlier, and with the stress etc. I hate to advise on her. There will be some more people on before you gave to shoot at 8:30-- see what others say.

My thoughts on Rocky-- I would wait until your preshot to decide. But, the way the patten has been today-- yes, I would increase to .8. I might would wait until in the morning to increase so I could test during the cycle-- for data. But, it looks like Rocky wants more than .6.

I will join you in a glass of wine!

Anyone care to take a stab a this mystery?
Rocky is at 71 @ +11!
Not that I'm complaining, but..........

Callie Mae is out on the porch enjoying the early evening breeze. I am going to go test her right now. I just wanted to post about Rocky because it has me scratching my head.

And Callie Mae............ drum roll please......

What is up with these 2?

I think there is something in your water!!!

Can Kitty and I come visit?!

You know--- no insulin unless he is rising and above 200!!

Have you had your wine yet?!

Yes, thank you, though. No shoot unless over 200. I don't have enough data for him. Callie's no shoot number is 150.
Always up for company. Just wait until I get Callie on another honeymoon. I think she has taken the role of coach. She had to have high numbers so she could show Rocky how it's done.

I'm past the wine.
Bottle all gone.
I've moved on to Colorado Bulldogs
Only thing I can make with what's in the liqueur locker.

Good on the wine!!!

Have a Great Night-- looks like you are off to a good start!

Oh wow! I was going to suggest dose increases for both til I saw they both got some greens! :o Pretty wild & crazy!

Rocky's looks like either an inverse curve, or maybe his pancreas is kicking in. He had a pretty surprising drop by +2 this morning, which can mean the dose is too high. I'd probably try 0.4 for him and see what happens. I mean most kitties need more than that, but at your house....?

Callie looks to me like the insulin helped enough that her pancreas took over. I'd probably stick with the same dose (if she needs more shots) since it appears to have worked fairly well.

There HAS to be something in the water.

Just tested them both.
Callie Mae~127
Rocky~~ 309

I am at a total loss.

I will check Callie in another hour or so and see what's up, as far as Rocky, you think .4 would be better?

Well, I don't want the guy to have to wait to long, so I am going to go ahead and give him .4.
Hopefully that will be enough considering how high he is.

This had totally slipped my mind, but I just realized after the +11 test, they got supper.
Callie Mae usually drops after food, maybe that's not the case right now with everything here stressing her out. Plus, she's not really eating. I've been watering her food all day, and she'll lick up all the water from the bowl, and get a little food in with that, but, then she's done. If she would eat, she would probably surf a little lower.
Rocky, he's probably *normal* so that's where the spike came from?
At any rate, I just shot him .4, so we'll see what happens.

I'm going to test Callie Mae, and if she's still on the rise, I will go ahead and shoot her .4 as well.
Paws crossed... ;-)
