By Jove I think we have regulation <anti-jinx>

Finally I think Mz Autumn has decided on her dose so far we are having a beautiful run on her numbers this is the longest sea of blues and greens that she has given me without either dipping too low or jumping up into the yellows and pinks. It does look like she takes a long time to settle on a dose and instead of reducing on the under 40s I need to just ride them out with her and not reduce unless she goes extremely low.

Of course having all that metal out of her face probably helps as well. Now for the bad teeth to go and we should be all set to start a downward trend again...but then again we have a full moon coming up and a storm this weekend so Lord only knows what she will do on those events since she tends to go high on storms and low on full moons...maybe they will just cancel each other out and we will continue these lovely numbers.

I'm pretty sure she doesn't know what to do with herself now that she feels so good...she is talking to me constantly, running around the house like a kitten and finding new places she can jump on or get into.

Mel, those numbers are very nice indeed - however, since she has dropped into the 20s on less insulin, I doubt this is the "magic" dose, or it won't last long. She has shown all the signs of wanting to get off insulin so I hope that once the teeth are taken care of she can make that goal happen.

But it sure is nice to see her steady and not swinging and dropping so low (anti jinx!).

Oh I don't expect this dose to be THE ONE, and completely expect it to change, but right now if it keeps her stringing these beautiful double digits numbers together I'm happy. Because the longer she can stay down here the better the chance that once the ear infection and teeth are taken care of if her pancreas can heal and take back over it should be able to.

Pretty much the plan is the next time she throws me an uber low to start decreasing her drop by drop, she seems really sensitive to dose changes so maybe smaller decreases will allow her to hang on to these numbers as long as possible.

If I didn't know better, I'd think that's tight regulation. ;-)

That's a great job of finding her *magic* dose for now.

If she stays in normal numbers like this for 7 days, she earns a reduction for good behavior. 0.45U? One drop less?

Those may hold better since they don't begin with a bounce. If she bounces after several days, then you go right back up.

Hi Mel -

Just a quick note to say congrats on finding something that resembles the magic dose, and when I saw your comment about the ear infection...

Grayson's numbers started improving when I started him on the eardrops back in Sept. Seemed like every time I stopped, the infection came back. After Christmas, his ear was good, and we stopped. Yesterday, it was back. Ugh! Today we had a culture done & it's been sent off to the lab. Couldn't do it before, as he'd been on the drops too recently. Not the case today. I'll bet the parallels with his numbers are going to be pretty convincing. Hopefully you'll be able to get to the bottom of the teeth & ears, and find even more reductions. Good luck!!!
