Should this be refridgerated? I picked up the stray cat I rescued on the 1st last night and asked the vet to give me some "just in case." he didn't think I'd need it, and I probably just wasted $36, but....
I don't see anything on the bag that says it needs to be put in the 'fridge, but it's got a short shelf life, since it's a liquid?

I fridge mine. So you could do it either way. I noticed that it turns thicker when fridged, which is ok, since you don't want them to swallow as much as sublingual.

Did your vet dispense the Buprenex in syringes all ready to use, when needed? If so, they put a stopper thing on the end, so make sure you store those syringes so the stopper is on the top, otherwise, if you lay the syringes down flat or with the top facing down, the liquid eventually leaks out. When you dispense, make sure to take that stopper off so you don't choke the cat. Sometimes, they use clear covers, and it is hard to see, especially if you are dispensing it while the cat is in a lot of pain.

It is better if they would dispense it to you in the little tiny 1 ml vials, or ampules. That way, you can draw out the amount needed yourself, and keep the vial or ampule in a dark place.

As Jennifer said, it is best stored in a dark cool place in a cabinet where it will be safe.

yes, that is exactly how they gave it to me - in syringes. I put them in the cupboard as you suggested. I thought he was favoring one paw tonight, he was quite active last night, but he seems ok when walking and licking said paw (he was grooming himself a short while ago). Thanks ladies!
