his pink is back :YMSIGH: we were doing so well there for awhile.Thinking about slightly raising him to a thin .50 tonight,
or should i go down instaed? Could he be rebounding and here again, less is more? Thoughts, pleeease...

Wish I could help. I'm on day 2 of lev. I will be interested in reading the responses you get. :-D

well, after looking through your SS, my first inclination is to take it down to .3u.

I say that bc on the .5u he hit greens too low, so you took it to the .4u and he got some really nice, sooth numbers for a few days- I like the blues at PS, then suddenly you are getting yellows the longer he settles on the .4, then the pink.

Looks like he needs less, by just a sniff.

See what others say, though, or go with your gut if you don't get feedback before shot time.

You know Marci, those numbers aren't half bad on the .40. It would be nice if you could get a couple of spot checks after the PM shot though, even just one before bed would be helpful. It would tell a better picture.

Could you add in on your spreadsheet what he ate and when?

Hang in there. How are you doing on the profile?

ETA - looks like Melissa and I were posting at the same time. I will stick to what I said though and so will leave it up to you. Maybe some others will pop in with their suggestions. :)

Yeah, I agree with Melissa. He's still swinging. I know it's counterintuitive to take the dose down when they have 300s, but when they end up in the 60s and 50s a few hours later, it's a pretty good sign the dose is a bit stout. I would even consider a more drastic drop to .2U so you have more room to work back up.

Just read Pamela and Melissa's comments. I kind of agree that the peak numbers aren't too bad on .4U but you have that nasty bouncing going on. At this point, if you lower the dose it may stop the swinging and give his liver breather and prepare it better for those low numbers. That's another reason that starting lower is better than starting too high and surpassing the optimum dose.

The other option is to sit on the .4U dose and see if his liver figures it out.

So that's my .20 cents. (Inflation!)

Ok, thanks so much -love it when everyone' s on the same page- down to .30u it is.
Buddy eats raw rabbit whenver he tell me he's hungry, about a teaspoon every 2-3 hours. Haven't had time to grapple with profile, hoping my friend will do it for me this weekend, and also get a pic of his beautiful mug shot up here.
Vicky-i would even pay .30 cents for your input!

Hi, Marci, welcome to the (sometime) pink club. Alley, too, just a little, like Buddy.
We are happy with Yellows and blues right now, but with the pinks are sneaking back in, may have to consider a change. He was just in a good place for a while there and I really enjoyed sleeping through the night lately....
I think your decrease is the right call. Get out of the pink Buddy!

Good luck,
Pam & Alley

Agree with Melissa and Vicky - in fact I posted to Mami (Dosgatos) today to look at Buddy's SS to how lowering the dose makes the numbers better and I mentioned that I thought Buddy would need another decrease soon - for the reason's stated above. I saw the return of the pinks and the bounces....

Looks like Buddys decrease was the right way to go.I am so grateful to you all for the help we get.
The fact that people ive never met care enough to devote your time and energy and brain power to helping Buddy is so moving to me.
I tell everyone i know about this site.

Aw, you're welcome, Marci!
Those mid cycle 100s are looking good! He should even out in a few more cycles if we're on the right track. Quite a amazing when you consider that a month ago he was on 4 times this much! It would be obvious if this weren't enough insulin as he wouldn't come down to 100s at all.
Thank you for getting the word out about Feline Diabetes!

Looks good. I would expect his to come down more in another 2-4 cycles - that has been his pattern at least.

And you are welcome. I can't help those that helped me in the beginning, but I can pay it forward, as they say....
