Yesterday Bubba had a nice drop at nadir +6 down to 146 from AMPS of 351. I expected him to bounce but OMG, he was his all time high last night at 496. I got a reading after at +4 and another nice drop to 276. I didn't get anymore test in last night; I was just exhausted! This morning, he is still high at 395 and I am imagining that he is still doing the bounce thing. I stayed with the dose of 1.8 and will hold it till he calms down. Or should I do anything different? Thanks everyone in advance. :banghead:

That was a nice drop, but I know you were disappointed with his 496. :( I am having similar issues and being new at this myself can't offer any advice, but I sure can sympathize with you. Hang in there and here's hoping Bubba and Rupert will have better numbers soon. :bighug:

I wish I could advise you with certainty. I would say stay at 1.8 but lets see what his PMPS is. It gets really hard when they drop like that outside their usual pattern. The hardest thing I am learning is not to increase the insulin in a bounce because it seems to counterintuitive.

Well, I'm not so sure about staying at 1.8, as you've already held this dose for 8 cycles now, and his drops are not that all that steep last 2 cycles. (And he's not getting into anything or eating mousies outside anymore, correct? Did you test for ketones today? Just in case ...)

I'm wondering if he isn't telling you that he needs a little more insulin now? Maybe an addl. 0.2/ 2.0U? Just a thought; perhaps Sue will weigh in here ...

He was outside for about 2 hours this AM, so I can not say that he hasn't eaten any small game. I will see what the PMPS does and hopefully it will be more apparent what dose would be good. Going back to 8.12.15 where he was getting into the blues and started bouncing, then on the 8.15 AMPS he was to low and I reduced to .6 which was probably too low and he hasn't been in a normal range since. Sigh.......

Yep, there's that;
outdoor time can play havoc with regulation. So .. guess we'll just see what happens by PMPS. Try not to stress too much, Bobbie - you know what they say: --It happens. ;)
