Hello everyone,

I need to take Enana with me to work tomorrow night (for about 3 hours) and I was wondering which rescue remedies you all use and where I can buy them?

I'm bringing her in her crate. What else would you suggest me to bring with me?

Food LC and HC
LB?

I have to shoot her here at work. Where should I bring the insulin?

Nerve wreck.

Buying RR retail is expensive, usually only available in health food stores. I couldn't find it with the rest of the Bach's essences at ours, it was in the pet department. GNC may have it too, I'd call around.

Sounds gross, but something you have worn w/ your scent on it for her to lay on and maybe a blanket to cover the crate and give her more of a sense of security. Good Luck, I have to take Tess sometimes. she hates it and hides under her blankie, but i know she is safe since I can test her.

Where should I bring the insulin?
I'm not sure what you mean. Don't pre-fill the syringe. Keep it in a refrigerator if you have one or in a cooler w/ ice packs if there is no fridge.

Hi, I use Rescue Remedy, I buy mine at Whole Foods (an organic, healthy market) however, the finer petstores & GNC also have the product. I suspect if you call around you will be able to find it.
I would take a litterbox so there is one if needed. The Lantus will need to be refrigerated, so just put it in there when you get to work.
It sounds like you have a plan in place, HC, LC, meter, strips, lancets & a syringe.
I hope it goes smoothly & she feels so great she actually helps with the workload

If you don't have a refrigerator at work, you will need to pack the Lantus so it remains at refrigerator temp. Do NOT pack it directly on ice since if you freeze Lantus, you've killed your insulin. If you have to bring it with an ice pack I would wrap the Lantus in something to prevent direct contact with the ice (e.g., wrap it in several layers of paper). I'd also bring treats.

Dyana will sometimes bring J.D. to work with her so she would be a good person to raise this question with.

Hi Natalia and Enana! Sorry Choco and I haven't been around in a few days but with all that went on with Piggie, I've just been worn out. I hope that Enana will do okay on her little field trip with her mama. :O) Let us know how it turns out. Talk to y'all later!

You don't even want to know what all is in J.D.'s bag:
I buy Rescue Remedy from the local Health Food Store (which I'm almost out of  ).
He has a couple varieties of LC and a few varieties of HC along with samples of dry food and illegal cat treats and karo syrup with a syringe taped to it. I also have another large syringe I can use to force feed, a jar of baby food, Mirtz, Cypro, along with some medicine to help calm his sphincter if needed. I have his cat bowl, a bottle of water, an extra pee pad (one is in the carrier). I have a lunch bag size cooler for storing the insulin wrapped in three layers of bubble wrap with an ice pack on the side and extra syringes and magnifying glass in the cooler's outside pocket. I have a box of a few extra lancets, sometimes an extra canister of strips, a cup to catch pee, and a box of ketone test strips, a digital thermometer, and his harness with a 15 foot leash. I bring a regular size litter box with scoop all wrapped up and tied in a garbage bag and stored in the trunk of my car with extra garbage bags and a big blanket to lay under my desk and under the litter pan, and a small spray bottle of Febreze :-D . If there's room left in there, then I can bring a lunch for myself.
Oh, and his meter (which I forgot at home recently :o )

Surely, you don't have to bring this much stuff, for a few hours.

Thanks Dyana. I packed everything I could think for a three hour outing.

There is a refrigerator in the Science Lab (where I am going to put her...away from parents and children).

Wow Dyana, you are definitely prepared. I didn't think about putting a kit together for "just in case" circumstances. Great idea and I need to get on the ball. I hope everything went well tonight Natalia. Let us know.
