Bradley on way to recovery?

Hey guys,

I was just wondering what charts normally look like for cats going into remission. Bradley didn't require a shot of insulin yesterday a.m. and now does not require one tonight (not yet anyway). His PMPS tonight is 121. I'll be turning in for the night soon, so I can only get one more test in, but any thoughts? It is highly doubtful he will spike up in an hour or two, right?

Well, you can probably guess  It's that Every Cat is Different thing. But you might go up to the first post under the grey line - the Remissions thread - and check out what other kitties have done.

I'd suggest you start working on mini doses. Here is some info on giving drops of insulin: Giving insulin by drops: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopi ... 24#p360982 We really want to try for a dose that you can shoot am and pm - to keep him even and stay away from am spikes. The next reduction would be .1 unit. I'd suggest it tomorrow am or a skinny .25 to see if we get good nadirs and a shootable pmps.

A regulated cat is in the 200s at preshot and 100s at nadir, on insulin. An OTJ cat runs between 40 - 120 without insulin, the majority of time in double digits.

You and Bradley are doing wonderfully well. Just hang in there.

Thanks guys....Just tested again and at 107.

Sue, I may need some help on the drops of insulin thing. I looked at that link earlier and couldn't make sense of it. I'll look at it again and if I come up with specific questions, I'll may have to ask.

Just curious. Your spreadsheet starts in early April. How long has Bradley been taking insulin?
I'm new to all this. The way I'm reading this is Bradley has only been on insulin a few weeks and you're already talking about remission. WOW!
