Hello All
My Missy has just gone through a roller coaster run from 65 up to 400's . This went on for about 2 weeks. During this time I dropped her from 1 unit twice a day to 1/4 unit once a day but I could not stop the roller coaster. She is an intact cat who went into heat. That's seems to be the reason it stopped. Unfotunately the stoppage seems to be holding almosy steady at the low 300's. I have increased Lantus dosages 3 times at 1/4 unit increases & she is nack at 1 unit twice a day but the number are not moving.
From what I have read thanks to info from this site it appears to be Symogyi rebound. I asked my Vet but she did not think that was it. Today the Vet recommended going up to 2 units twice a day but the Syomogyi info outlines this senario almost exactly the same as what I am dealing with so I am cutting the dosage by 1/4 unit to see results.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Missy was diagnosed May 5 2010 & has not been regulated. The Vet wants to spay her believing that her not being fixed may have a big factor on what's going on with the numbers.
Thank you
Dave
