Bounce or insulin resistance?

Posting for Dumpling. Dumpling's spreadsheet

Dumpling was doing quite well until we lowered his dose to 3.25u on 12/26. He had high numbers for three days. We thought it was a failed deduction so we increased his dose back to 3.5u. Since then, Dumpling's blood glucose has been...strange. We cannot figure out if he's been bouncing or became insulin resistant like he did last September.

We are thinking to lower his dose to 3.15u to see if the spike disappear in order to rule out/confirm bounce. And we wonder if it's the right move. Please advice! TYIA.

I can tag a few members for you. Just want to be sure Dumpling is on Lantus like it says on the SS

Would you mind putting Dumplings SS into the signature please? Could you also add him to the signature as well please?

Was the 52 on 25 Dec from the libre or the alpha track? If it was the libre, I would not have reduced the dose.
Using two type of meters in an SS is very confusing. Are all the ones marked libre the only libre ones?

He is possibly bouncing from the lower green and blue BGs.
I would go back to the 3.5 U dose. ..that dose is getting him into greens which is where you want him to be.
Reducing to 3.15 ( that is a strange dose) will only result in higher BGs.

@Bron and Sheba (GA) thanks for the reply and I am Dumpling's mom, Jia is posting for me, dumpling is using Libre to track curves while I am working and sleeping (I will use AT before shot and for lower numbers under 100).

After we increased the dose back to 3.5u, it seems like he is still bouncing or maybe insulin resistance. It's already 16 cycles since we got back to 3.5u. I think if we go 3.75u then that might cause another bounce, should I keep dumpling 3.5u for another few days? Thanks again :)

Next time you see a green number on the Libre, I would double check with the hand held meter (you are using AT?).

I think he needs an increase to 3.75 units. He's been on this dose long enough for TR. Bounces aren't a factor in dosing, other than you want to avoid increase on the same cycle they are breaking the bounce as that could be an extra active cycle.

Thank you @Wendy&Neko for your advise, increasing dose to 3.75u this morning and hopefully can get lower numbers soon :)

In case you weren't aware of it on your spreadsheet up top above where you have insulin lantus you have the number 76?
You need to put the Diagnosed Date 9/02/22 like you have on your signature :cat:
