Board Outages

I'm quoting Rebecca's note from the top of the Board.

I have just spent a very painful 2 hours chatting with our hosting service about the website and the problem of it slowing or being inaccessible. So, here's the upshot.

1) Within the next 24 hours we will move to a new dedicated server with more RAM and greatly increased bandwidth. And it will cost $245/month, $10/month less than now! Big difference on service, and even minimal discounts are great. They tell me there will be no downtime. Do you believe that? Neither do I but will shall see.

2) If you get a mySQL error and are unable to get on the board, please copy the message and email it to me along with the time it occurred. Also, let me know if the whole felinediabetes.com website is down or just the Message Board. The FDMB was down for an hour last night but the main part of the site was up. All of this will help us track down the problem.

OK, the transfer to the new server is complete and we seem to have survived. Now let's see if I can get the billing department to refund the $400 that they need to for the other server. Hope nothing bounces!

So, be sure to send me those SQL error messages if you get them so we can get all that straightened out too.

Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but the pages seem to be loading a lot faster for me since I got on board tonight.
