Blood Glucose testing in rear paws

This is the only way I can get my cat to hold still and sit in my lap and relax to get BG taken as its several times a day for now.
I have tried the ear, he flaps it around and we end up with blood flying or no results. My vet is fine with paw testing and we get accurate readings each time together at the vets and at home. Just wondered what others have experienced. Why do the ear when the paw is so much easier?

Depends on the cat - my Tiggy freaks out when you try and touch his paws. But he likes his ears rubbed.

Michelangelo hates having his feet touched, so that was immediately out of the question for us.

Kat (TheBowHuntress) sometimes tests her kitty, Gobbles, on his paw pads. She wrote this up for another member that might be of help.

My Toby isn't fond of having his ears touched at all, but doesn't mind his paws. When we first started hometesting, he seemed to prefer the paws, but within a couple of days he'd changed his mind /shrug. He gets to choose on this one
