Never before ...499 at +5 :cry: Can anybody explain why this might be happening?
Other than this awful #, he seems to feel good. Should i increase dose tonight?
(btw-for some unknown reason, the SS lost it's color and lines-hope it's not too hard to follow).

I am sorry Marci...it is not fun seeing numbers like that. Maybe it is time for a vet checkup for Buddy? If I were getting high numbers like that for Tigger I might suspect an infection, or maybe a teeth cleaning? I know you know this, but I thought I would just mention it again.

Buddy is such a hard one to figure out. I know if you increase the dose then he tends to go too low. Is he always getting enough food when you give him the shot?

I have to make sure Tigger is eating well at shot time, or I have to reduce his dose. We were going through that a lot in the last couple of months before his dental. Now he is down to just .5 units/BID. Pretty unheard of from my higher dose kitty.

Regarding the lines in your spreadsheet. I had that problem too when my spreadsheet got too long - I had to manually fill in the lines and such. So I started a new spreadsheet for 2011. You can see in my signature.

Sorry about the red numbers today. I took a look at your ss and I think Buddy might need a slight decrease based on the 38 the other day. Hopefully others will chime in soon.

Although you are seeing green numbers it's too much for him. No response to a shot usually means rebound has taken over and the dose can't overcome it until the rebound clears. I don't think any toxicity has set in yet, so you might see more stable numbers at 1U again.

When you get low green numbers (below 50) it's a good time to re-evaluate what the cycles look like. Too many greens and reds don't mean Christmas. And 500s generally mean rebound, unless the cat has another health issue going on, but then you're usually not going to see greens at all. I understand the need for health evals on chronically ill cats, but those who get good, especially too good, responses to doses usually just need a downturn in their dose.

thanks everyone for your feedback. So i'll give him 1 u tomorow,see what happens.
This never happened before ,so i was really lost as to whch way to go, i really appreciate the help.

Marci, I wonder if you didn't reduce enough and/or didn't hold the lower dose long enough. Buddy's numbers remind me of when I was searching around for Beau's best dose and one dose (.5u) was clearly too high and the next loser dose (.4u) seemed like it wasn't enough. It turned out he need even less and when I reduce again (to .3u) I started seeing better numbers. But I bounced back and forth for a while before trying another reduction.

I wonder if .8u or .9u might show you a better numbers. Maybe even .75u.
