Bitsy was started on buprenorphine today for pain. Well when I went to check her sugars and give her her insulin she went to attack me; not normal for her. And when I went to give her the pain meds she attacked again. I had to go get my daughter to help me with these tasks as I myself could not do it alone. It is so hard to watch her be in pain and see her attacking me especially when I only want to help her. Hopefully, this will help with the pain and she will feel better and go back to her sweet self. Yes she is still sweet but I mean sweet without attacking me for trying to help her.

Sorry, rant over! Though if anyone has any suggestions to help make med time and such easier so I stop looking like I just fought a lion; it will be greatly appreciated.

I am assuming the pancreatitis, but it was also mentioned that they noticed she flinched and tensed every muscle in her body when they touched her lower back/hip area. So for now it is hopefully working for both. Thursday I am to call and let them know how she is doing. They did recommend after this that she be put on Gabapentin long term for the lower back/hip pain if that continues.

Buprenorphine is a great pain medication, but it tastes foul if you don't get it in the cheek pouch and it hits her tongue at all. I hope it'll go easier tomorrow.
