I'm back from my "dental" to the tune of 800.00 to replace a veneer that had decay under, paid 1/2 now and the dentist asks me oh don't you want to replace the other 3 since the new one is porcelain and the other three are cerac lumineers? Ah, no, I've only had them 5 years and they cost me 2400.00 and thats when I had good dental insurance that paid 2400 on them, otherwise they would have been 5000.00, this was before DH got laid off from his job. And the lumineers are thinner and better than porcelain. I wouldn't have had this one replaced if she hadn't found decay under it. Worst of all, when I had the old one taken off 3 weeks ago, she numbed out the wrong side of my mouth and I said to the tech, why is the right side getting numb? The dentist thought I was having them all replaced and was going to start on the opposite side from the one with decay under it.
I have had the worst luck with dental stuff, I didn't go for 20 years because of extreme fear after an impression got stuck in my mouth, then I had a molar fracture from grinding my teeth that broke off and even though it hurt like hell, I waited 3 months to go to another dentist my friend recommended and had to have to implants which took over a year to finish, 4 veneers, gold inlays, etc. expensive crap. Then in the midst of having the implants, my former dentist's office was raided by the DEA while I was in the chair because the dentist was writing scrips for his wife who was an addict and getting various family members and office employees pick up rxs , and he lost his liscense. Then while I'm trying to get work done there have been 3 dentists since him, the one I have now bought out his practice.
Henry has done better today, maybe I should leave him with DH more often. He does help everyday with testing but hasn't ever given his shot, but helps hold him.
