That sure looks like a bounce to me, Sue.
And because of the reduced dose yesterday pm it
may have bounced higher than it otherwise would have (because of the insulin depot having drained a bit). That's
not to say that you shouldn't have given the reduced dose. In the circumstances, and at the time, it seemed like the right thing to do.
I agree that it's not a good idea to raise the dose on the basis of the 'bouncing numbers' as they don't show the whole picture. In fact it may be that
reducing the dose reduces the bouncing and lets Frankie's numbers level out a bit. (But that is 'general' advice; I have no experience of using Lantus so you'd be better advised on the Lantus forum about that.)
It will be interesting to see what effect the diet change has on Frankie's numbers. It may take a few days (or more) to see the full effect of transitioning to lower carb food.
Be aware though that this could have a similar effect to raising the insulin dose. I'm sure you'll keep a close eye on Frankie (your hometesting is brilliant!
