Vinnie seemed to be responding somewhat to 0.5u of prozinc - he'd have a nice dip around +5. But his numbers are still a tad high so I upped him to 0.75 yesterday and now his numbers don't seem to be dropping from the insulin. They are fairly flat with just a miniscule little dip around +4 and higher than the dip numbers on the lower dose. Is this normal when increasing the dose? He also seems a little more lethargic with the higher dose. Nothing alarming, just not his normal feisty self.

His appetite seemed to come back last night and today and he also seems more alert and feisty today. His +3 today is down to 157 so it does sound like he might have been bouncing yesterday? Should I check him at +5 or +7 for nadir? Or more frequently?

Would it be posible to get a before bed reading? Sometimes cycles are different at night. As an art teacher, gotta say, love the name.

His pm shot is right before bed, but yes I can get up and do another reading. It was impossible the last couple of nights but tonight should be okay. When should I try to do it? And with him down to 157 at +3 today, should I check him frequently to make sure he doesn't drop into hypo area? (I had a cat die 20 years ago from hypoglycemia before anyone told me about home testing so I'm paranoid).

Thanks! One of my other cats is Monet :)

Is never a bad thing to test. I see he came down even a little more. Numbers are looking great.
