BG reading of 505

Hey guys,

Loui's BG reading was at 505 this am...and he threw up the low car treats I gave him while testing him.

I went ahead and gave him 2.5 units instead of 2 as I couldn't get right down here and ask what to do.

I will check him in a little while and see where he is at...but should I be concerned about this number? It seems so high!

You do need to get some food into his tummy. Humulin tends to hit fast and hard and you want food on board. Did he eat breakfast? Did he throw up just the treats or everything? You might try feeding him a little bit of something that he really likes - low carb if at all possible. Hairball? New or different food?

Not sure what your high numbers are about. You were getting pretty decent numbers on 2 units. I think I would figure it was just one number. If you have a chance, get some mid cycle numbers in today so you can look for patterns.

Thanks for the reply! As of a little while ago, it appeared that he had only thrown up his treats.. *cross fingers*. I gave him his usual low carb canned food and he ate his normal amount. He seemed to be holding it down! *Hopefully* he was able to! I am downstairs right now doing some work but I will go up in a little while and get a reading. I will also do my best to get a couple of other readings during the day to see whats going on.
