So, I just did my +6 test on Toby and got two different readings (it was a difficult session!). After pricking him twice, I got some of his blood on my finger, so tested that and got a reading of 245. As I was cleaning up and getting the Neosporin for his ear, I noticed he had a large dot of blood on his ear. It took me two strips, but I tested directly from his ear and got 427. I would say roughly 45 seconds-1 minute passed between the two tests. Would his stress levels create that big of a jump in such a short period of time?
I lowered his dose from 1 unit to .50 this morning and since he didn't eat more than a couple of bites of his wet food this morning, I left his dry mix out which I saw him eat a few pieces of twice. I'm not surprised he didn't drop much from this morning, but I wouldn't expect it to climb that much. I'm new at all of this, so any help would be appreciated!
