Hi guys! Boy I am full of questions today!

Basil's numbers are coming down since the switch from Friskies to Fancy Feast/Wellness.

Where he was in the 200"s and upper 100's he is now closer to 170-118.

I am still trying to figure out how much he needs to eat-I read the post about caloric needs, and am having an issue finding caloric values for FF. I want to make sure he has enough, but still want to see some weight loss.

My question is what is an appropriate BG range for a cat who is 'borderline' diabetic - and does not currently take insulin? I'm confused about what is considered too low or too high.

I've read so many posts on here and articles on feeding that my eyeballs are crossing!

You guys are the best- I don't know what I'd do without all the support and kindness shared on this board. It makes me feel more in control of my cat's health, and I am very grateful for all your help.

:)

Normal glucose for a non-diabetic cat run roughly 40-150. Some cats may go slightly lower and still be fine (well, barring an insulinoma - a tumor that secrets insulin).

And remember - the meters are only accurate within 20% of the true lab value.
Ex 100 really means the glucose is between 80 and 120.
