Hello, my cat Bella has been having a pretty good week or two with her blood glucose levels but she still acts as vicarious as ever. She weighs about 8 pounds and gets around 1 and a half cans of friskies pate a day. Half a can in the morning, half a can at night, and then I recently tried the whole freezing some so she can have it a bit after eating to try and space out her meals trick. But she just licks the frozen cat food cubes away as soon as I put them down. Does anyone else have any other tricks? Does it take a bit for their hunger to settle down? She was completely free fed dry food before being diagnosed and switching to all wet food, not sure if that makes a huge impact.

Part of it may be that she has not adjusted to not having food out all of the time. The dry food also may gave made her feel fuller.

One option is to get feeder with a timer and set it for mid day. Another is to give her a full can for each meal. My cats all are fed 2 cans of Friskies a day. Almost all of them weigh between 8-10 pounds.

?? voracious ?? -- excellent description of Catcat -- I was tempted to try the "frozen whole large can of Friskies" experiment, at least for overnights, to ward off any too-low BGs since vetsulin does its usual thing and I've been advised that many cats run lower at night

yes, am sure he'd lick it to death within minutes, if I offered frozen cubes
