Hi all.
I was wondering if anyone had any insight on these slight elevations to Tux’s BG levels.
I know we’re still so early in his treatment, and are still trying to figure out dosage.
I was wondering if it could be stress related.
Starting on the 2nd (Sunday evening), I am house-sitting for my brother, so my husband and I are not at home except to give Tux his shots and food/water at 8am/8pm every day. We leave him plenty of food, and from what’s left when we return, he’s been eating normally.
Today, his AMPS was 236, and PMPS 238.
The last time we saw BGs in the 200s was his AMPS was March 30, and his AMPS & PMPS on March 25.
He is a very sociable cat, so I wouldn’t be surprised if our absence was noticed by him.
Do you think this rise in BG is stress related? Or is it just too early in his diagnosis to really tell?
Just to mention, this also coincides with a slight change in his diet. I just received the Young Again Zero dry food, and have been sprinkling that on his wet food. I still incorporate the Orijen, because I have 3/4 of the bag left, and it was expensive. The majority of his diet is still FF pate. The dry kibble is just to make sure he eats enough since he’s not very enthusiastic with wet food and I worry he doesn’t eat enough.
Any insight is appreciated!
