Hello again all,
My cat Twink was diagnosed with diabetes about a year ago when her blood work came back with a BG of 226. Turns out the steroids the vet had put her on previously was pushing her BG numbers up, we took her off those and put her on Science Diet M/D. Her numbers slowly but surely fell and they settled in the 60-80 range. I stopped taking them after awhile because she was the happiest, healthiest cat I'd seen her be in years. So I don't think she's technically a diabetic, or if so she's only food controlled, no insulin what so ever. Anyway, I spot check the BG every once in awhile just to make sure, a month ago they were in the 50s and today it was 48. I took it right after her morning nap and I'm pretty sure she hadn't eaten for something like 6 hours? She acts great, plays, eats and seems fine, but 48 is awfully close to hypoglycemic. Should I be worried? I don't really know what causes low blood sugar in non-diabetic cats. I'm stumped  I appreciate any opinions, thanks all!
