Bexacat Info and Question

I am thinking about fostering (to adopt) a 10 year old that has recently been diagnosed with FD. He is currently at a local rescue that is run by a vet and was started on Bexacat. From the little info I've received so far is that he is doing well on it.

I've had 2 sugar boys in the past so I have experience with ProZinc and Lantus. I was able to get one of the two off of insulin (Lantus) in 3 months and he remained in remission for the rest of his life. I achieved this by changing his diet of kibble to canned only after I rescued him. He was relinquished by the former owner because he was diabetic and was 12 years old.

I really don't know much about Bexacat and want to know the chances of being able to get this guy into remission. From what I know about him, he has had only a diet of kibble which I plan to change ASAP. I am hoping to hear from those who have experience with this medication.

I will be doing a meet and greet at the rescue soon and will find out more about him from the vet and staff.

Thank you
