I found out that my cat is allergic to coconut oil, long story. I don't have any Benadryl tablets, just capsules and the powder is HORRIBLE so I was forced to give him a whole capsule (25mg) which I read is an okay dosage. My question that I can't seem to find an answer to is how many can I give him in one day? Does anyone know? The bottle says every 4 to 6 hours but I'm assuming that doesn't apply for a 15 lb cat.

From The Nest:
According to the Cat Health Guide, you can give your cat 2 milligrams per pound of body weight every 8 hours. For example, if your cat weighs 10 pounds, you would give him no more than 20 milligrams per dose.

oops well he's getting 25mg like it or not until I get the tablets, he's doing don't fine on the on that done that

Looks like I couldn't speak last night lol

I meant he's doing fine on that dose

That should be ok. She said 20 mg for a 10 lb cat, but yours is 15. We gave a cat children's benadryl once when he got stung on the cheek by a bee. Poor things cheek puffed up.

One of my little girls, she was max 8lbs and the full-grown size of a 3-4ish month old kitten, got stung on her paw. We felt sooo bad for her but it was also hard not to chuckle because it looked like she had a golf club :p

:eek: ok that would be funny poor kitty.

I'm just SO TIRED of waking up with Peanut sneezing directly in my face. He sleeps with his head on my pillow and his face about 5 or 6 inches away, sometimes closer though. For the last few days, he'll yawn all cute like and then AH CHEW right into my face and eyes. No matter how tired I am, there's just no going back to sleep after that. :arghh:

I'm sorry, that made me laugh because Maury has done the same thing. Only a couple times though :D

I woke up once in the middle of the night with my naughty Bengal boy spraying me in the face, right between the eyes, I swear! I was so stunned! But once the shock wore off I was furious - he was banned from my bedroom for a long time after that!

This all started because he ate a wing and giblets 2 days in a row and he got stopped up. His belly was tight and he would meow when I picked him up for testing so I knew that something was wrong. All that I have around here is hemp oil which I don't eat and it's been in the fridge for a few years so it might not be any good anymore anyway. Then I have avocado oil, olive oil and coconut oil. I googled it and saw that the coconut oil was the safest of the three and decided to give him some along with some fiber in his food to try to facilitate a bowel movement. Mind you that I completely forgot that I have 2 frozen packs of perfectly good bacon in the freezer
So he did end up passing some stuff but I guess that not all of it is out yet and the allergy won't pass until all of the food is out of his system, I know from experience. Now he's so addicted to the wings that he isn't much interested in his food lol. All I have to do is show him a wing and he starts trying to climb up my leg to get it, it's ridiculous lol. I thought about making a game out of it and tying a string around a wing and using it like a toy but I thought that might get messy HAHA. I went out and got him some probiotics and salmon oil, mixed that into some canned food and he just ate pretty good.
