And he's still doing great. He had a bit of a tussle about a month ago with another animal (a cat, I think). The intruder attacked Beethoven on his own deck while he was out there minding his own business. He ended up with torn ears that needed sutures! He's completely healed, but his right ear (the testing ear!) now has a notch in a most inconvenient place.
The vet asked if we wanted a one dose antibiotic or pills. When I immediately said pills, she about fell over. I guess they really struggle to give him pills, but I have it down to a very easy routine involving a hug, a kiss, the pill, another kiss, and then a treat.
We've gotten a bit rusty with the BG testing technique though, since we only do that about once a month now. Not complaining though!
Once again I can report all aspects of Beethoven's health are good. His favorite activities (after sleeping and eating, of course) are sitting on the deck watching the backyard, looking out of windows, stretching out in front of the fireplace, playing with a string tied to a chair, and chasing the laser dot. We're pretty low tech when it comes to cat toys. And he sometimes goes after the window blind cord, which I'm sure he thinks is there just for his enjoyment.
Here's a pic showing Mr. Scraggly Ear.
