I don't test him often, just observe his water drinking, which is normal. He does not like being tested any more! He is one of those kitties that becomes rigid with legs sticking straight out when he is being made to do something he doesn't want to do. He did not want to sit down or sit still for the test. He was purring though  This is a guy who jumped up on the testing table and sat down on his blanket when he heard the micro ding (heating the rice sock) even if all I was doing was heating water for tea. I'd find him in the dark dining room area waiting for me.
He has tended to be in the 90-100 range for the most part. I sometimes get a 70 or 80 and he doesn't drink much or pee more than normal, so I don't worry. I do wonder though if his pancreas is minutely compromised and can't keep him in the 60s and if that makes any difference. He did loose weight after he went OTJ and my vet could not find a reason. I just wonder if he could get those last 30 points of BG into his cells if he could hang on to weight better? I'm not thinking of starting him back on insulin. He is at numbers I could never shoot when he was headed OTJ. Even shooting .05u he would bottom out (30s) if I gave that below about 150.
He continues to amaze me and his vet just be being alive still at the age of 14. With HCM diagnosed when he was 3, he was given a 2-5 year life expectancy. And he was on insulin for 2-1/2 years, which rarely ends in going OTJ.
This morning he got on my lap and purred for about a half hour. This is also a rarity. He hardly ever gets on my lap and then he will usually walk right off again. So that was nice. He was chirping last night when he got on the bed. He doesn't do that too often. I know he misses Jeddie a lot and has been a little depressed about it, but he is trying to get close to Ariel. I think he really needs a cuddle buddy to be truly happy.
Here are all the cute cuddle photos I have since Jeddie died. He and Beau cuddled every day, multiple times. Now Beau is lucky to get a cuddle or kiss every few weeks (although these all were in a few days of each other). Poor guy.
