I guess I would just like someone to confirm that this could be a bounce still??

Days doing blues and not changing the insulin amounts then seems all the sudden she is having a hard time
reaching them again??

Thanks!

It is possible that she is a kitty who has a flat cycle after one in lower numbers than she is used to. That's a pattern I have seen before. If she were mine, I think I'd see what this cycle looks like and if she is higher than you want by pmps, then consider a smidge more (pull up more than one and let out drops until it is a "smidge" more than one) or try 1.25

It would be nice to know why they get the numbers they do. Once Dr. Lisa posted this great response about insulin being one part of this big puzzle that is the cat. It's the one variable you control - the others are things like a tummy upset, or seeing another cat outside or it being too hot.... So you just keep working with the numbers you see, and remember that one number is just one number, one cycle is just one cycle. Easier said than done.

In general, she is looking pretty good number wise and encouraging for some cycles. Is she feeling okay and eating/peeing/pooping well?

I slept thru testing last nite :-(
this am being 455, i would imagine she was in the 100's at some point.
I am just worried being all over the place is not good for her health.
She acts much better when lower, and just lays with her eyes open when high - sad

was trying to see if I held this amount and rode out the bounce, if she would get used to the blues enough to quit going up to the reds before I increased.

Perhaps waiting a few more days... might do increase on Saturday.

You can try to use food to smooth out the curves. So, if you find she starts to drop around +3/4, give her a snack then. (Food usually brings up the levels). And another snack around +6. If she doesn't have food available overnight, you might leave some out for her so she can snack if she drops low. It doesn't mean you need to feed her more (unless she needs the calories) - just take the amount you feed and divide it up into smaller amounts fed more often. An automatic feeder is good for this.

Thanks Sue,
She has food down all the time. I have 3 and they share. Since I have been home, we do b-fast at 430 and whatever is left, usually is gone by 10. Then we do 1/2 can or so when I leave for work at 10. It is usually gone by 12-1ish. Then dinner when I get home at 4 and snack before bed at 730-8. They 'graze' until they run out. She does not seem to go for food when she is dropping. But if it is when I am not here and she is lowest then, I guess I really dont know that for sure.
Wish I could be here during her +6-7 during the day :-(

Oh well, you do what you can. You have figured out a way to get the early cycle number which is a good indicator of how the cycle might go. That is a good thing.

Maybe this weekend, get a curve. If she is still dropping into the blues at nadir, you might adjust the dose a smidge down. Or if she is in the yellows the whole cycle, you might adjust it up. There are several other approaches, based on the numbers you see. If amps is always higher, maybe shoot 11/13. So shoot the am dose an hour earlier and the pm dose an hour later. The nice thing about ProZinc is that you have options with dosing; you just need the info to guide you.
