Battery on meter?

Good morning. I'm curious how long everyone's battery on their meters last. I know every meter is different and it also depends on use.
I took today off so I figure I'd use the opportunity to get some mid cycle numbers on Charley.

Amps 302
+4 221

Really hoping for some blues.
 
With my relion micro, the original battery only lasted a month or so. I put a new one in and it's been fine since last june.

Just looked at the SS.
The optimist in me says there was a blue in between those two yellows!

When I asked this question, everyone told me they go on the blink before they die completely. I didn’t want to find out, so I just changed the battery. Got one at the drugstore for a couple bucks. Worth the peace of mind I thought.....
 
I use the Accu Chek Aviva and the battery gives NO warning when it gives out-- no blinking, no anything-- it just dies! The first time time it died it was at a LATE pm shot and the meter wouldn't come on, no warning or anything. So, I had to make a trip to Walmart to try and get a battery-- they were out of! So, I left and went to a 24 hour drugstore and tried to purchase a battery-- they were out too! So, back to Walmart I went and I just purchased a new meter, since it came with a battery!

My advice-- get a spare battery and keep on hand at all times! In fact, I keep two batteries on hand! Lesson Learned!

All of a sudden mine didn't work. Just got new battery. I use a relion micro. It lasted about 5mths.
 
Add to what I said. When my Micro battery died, it was instant, no warning. When I went the next day to buy a battery, I bought a 2 pack so I wouldn't get surprised again.

Typically when you buy any device with a battery included, the batteries aren't as high a quality and don't last as long it seems.

These are very hard batteries to find in stock, always seem to be out at walmart and the drug stores but I have always seen them at the grocery stores. It is best to always have a spare around. If anyone is into couponing, there are always $1.50 off coupons for batteries in the paper and if you have a local grocer that occasionally doubles coupons up to $1.99 they are very nearly free and you can stock up for the year! Side note, the coupon may say it's for a certain type or size of battery, but if the first group of numbers on the UPC of the coupon match the ones on the product package the coupon will scan. It's $1 doubles today, off to feed my addiction!
