It's been awhile since we've been around...I have a Batryl question...how long do the side effects last?
Ruby has been OTJ for over a year now. She was diagnosed with CRF/CKD last fall but her levels are barely elevated and have been holding steady.
Last Thursday we took her to the vet for her normal check up. She's shown no signs of not feeling well. Her blood pressure was great, totally normal temp, heart rate good. To all appearances she seemed great. The blood and urine came back and showed an elevated white cell count and some rods in her urine. The doc said it was the early sign of a bladder infection and prescribed Baytril. She got her first does Saturday night. On Sunday she threw up once and wasn't very interested in food. I gave her some Cerenia and called the vet yesterday morning. We held off last night's dose of the Baytril to see if she perks up. So it's been about 36 hours since her last dose of anything and she still will only eat a bite or two of food at a time. She's very quiet and just not herself.
How long do the side effects of Baytril last? If it was making her feel pukey, should it have worn off by now? I'm going to call the vet as soon as they open but thought I check here in the meantime.
Thanks much,
Amy & Ruby
