Since we've upped Kittens insulin she obsessed with the bathroom sink. She sleeps on the sink and waits for someone to come in and begs to get the faucet turned on for a drink. She's 12 and has never slept on the sink or wanted faucet water. What's with the new obsession? Besides diabetes and ibs she has no other health issues. It's very strange. I Know I'm overreacting but since she's been sick I worry nonstop. I also have an old dog that is starting to give up on food so I'm an axious mess lately.

Does she have access to fresh water all the time. Most diabetic cats are very very thirsty, especially when they aren't regulated.

Yes, that's why it's so strange. She likes to drink fresh water out of cups. So besides 2 water bowls, I always keep fresh water in a cup on the table and 1 by my bed for her.

As you can see from my picture, cats sleeping in the sink isn't all that unusual...although I do understand that changes in behavior do tend to get our attention!

I'm wondering if she is warm and the bathroom sink is cooling. My previous boy used to sleep in the sink sometimes, like Sam, and loved to drink from the faucet :cat:

My other cat tessa is a faucet drinker but kitten has never been interested before. It's still chilly in the house but maybe her insulin makes her warm? She will stay in there half the day and meow everytime you go in begging for water. Sigh. Everytime she does something different it freaks me out wondering why. Lol

I have a cat that was obsessed with the water form the sink. Got her a pet fountain for Christmas and she stopped begging at the sink.

I agree with the pet fountain. I did the same for my 4 cats for Christmas one year and that stopped one of my cats from constantly asking for water.
