Basil: Caturday and One Year Annifursary!

Hi Everyone,

We celebrated Basil's first whole year OTJ this week. As always, we remembered how much (everything) we owe to the good people here.

Basil is in wonderful health and spirits. He continues to entertain us with his middle of the night singing and talking. His weight is steady and he is adorably sweet and lovey. The only problem is, I now have the issue of kidney failure with my little dog. His (the doggie's) diet has changed to include more carbohydrates and it is a battle to keep Basil away! He WANTS WANTS WANTS some of that yummy stuff and has managed to steal it a few times. We have had to change where we feed the doggie to eliminate the opportunities for Basil.

Basil says he is looking forward to spring when there will be sunshine to soak up and no more of that white stuff on the ground.

Sorry to read about your doggie. Must be fun trying to keep Basil out of his food. We have a similar situation here, and Mannie is always hiding in the wings waiting to try and raid that food bowl.

I remember your OTJ party (it was one of the first Stu attended and I think it inspired him to learn how to cook!). Happy Annifursary, Basil. I hope the snow will disappear for you soon so that you can get back to your outdoor pursuits.

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO Congratulations!!!!!! Inspiring!!!!

Our dog was just diagnosed with kidney issues also (on top of CHF). We joined the k9kidneydiet group on Yahoo. I have to train DH not to put her food back down without locking Maverick in the bedroom. Or I sit on the kitchen floor and wait for her to eat. She is on baytril and her appetite is in the toilet. He hasn't managed to sneak any but you can see him waiting and showing interest.
