Yay!

Yesterday's Condo

I called Pfizer and Clavamox drops contain saccharine. I wish there were a place to post that permanently since it was an ordeal to find out!

He's eating like a champ. Looking good and seems affectionate and happy if a little put out. I have the feeling somehow that he is waiting for us to grab Rosie or Emmett and take them away in the purple plastic crate to the Bad People Who Smell Terrible.

Re: Basil 6/12 -- AMBG=110

Hi guys .. nice start to the day! Glad that basil is in a good mood and is eating well for you . .have a great day!

Well, he now has diarrhea from the Clavamox. The vet wants to keep him on it for 2 more days at least, as long as it doesn't interfere with his eating or cause vomiting. But his last dental, I was convinced the side effects of the Clavamox were what caused him to go high and wobble about up there for two weeks. I wish I had remembered that. We also had house guests with us for a few days that time and I didn't think Basil liked it so the jury was out. You can see it in his chart marked Dental Day in 2010.

I'm hoping that is what caused this rise again. Sigh. He seems happy otherwise. No sign of any discomfort and very purry.

I hope no one minds my doing a daily condo until we either see his BG go down and stay down or we (gulp) start Lantus again.

hi lydia. i totally understand your apprehension about the possibility of having to restart insulin, but hang in there. overall, i think basil is looking pretty darn good! he's been bringing himself down. the higher numbers you're seeing now could very well be explained by the clavamox and the trauma of the dental. as he heals those numbers will probably come down.

i haven't in LL everyday. i assume you're giving some sort of probiotic... human or something like fortiflora?

(((hugs)))

Hi Jill!

Yes, I have a probiotic that is supposed to be for cats. And he is getting that. I am just so worried that he is creeping up slowly. My husband and I did a little 7am dance today when we saw 110, but then we got a bit glum at the 158.

If fortiflora particularly good? I have a renal dog who also takes the probiotic from time to time so I am always on the lookout for the best ones.

FortiFlora is formulated for cats (and there's a formula for dogs, too). Most cats love the stuff. My vet referred to it as "kitty crack." I've never seen it in a store. I've always purchased it on-line.

Ha ha ha! I have to laugh because both my cats, but Basil particularly, will wolf some foods like there is no tomorrow. The favorite. In the world. Forever! Well, maybe not forever. Maybe until two days later when they turn their noses up at it.

I'm off to bed since I have to be up at 3 to feed the Beezer Man. I HAVE to get that auto feeder going soon. Jill-he learned to open the small one and used to eat the food the moment I put it in. One claw, one pull and it was his. Now I have a big multi-section one that looks like an armored military item. Or a turtle.

Good night all!

there's no doubt in my mind alex would tear apart an autofeeder... which is why i'm the autofeeder around here. luckily, i've been able to manage without too much trouble.

get some sleep and try not to worry...
ni-ni!
