Has there ever been any research done on the effect of barometric pressure on BG? I was looking back through Shiloh's SS, and noticed that although it coincided with her dose reduction, we were also having severe storms during that time. We had NO storms yesterday and only a small one today. Any ideas?

I couldn't find any studies on barometric pressure and diabetes, but there are articles on migraines, fibromyalgia, arthritis, etc etc.

It makes sense that if stress can affect glucose levels then changes in barometric pressure can as well, since it would act as an exterior stress factor. I have read posts on different sites where some people say their sugar cats are also affected by full moons. Again the extra pull of the moon on earth's tides may also affect the fluids in a person (and maybe kitty)

good question

Mary Ann, I could not find anything either. But I figure if big changes in barometric pressure can put pregnant women into labor, it must have some effect on other things.

I am thinking that external changes such as heat, cold, barometric pressure etc can cause some sort of change in the hormones and how well they are utilized so it makes sense to me that glucose may be affected since it is just one part of the endocrine system and that is controlled by hormones.
