we're having a little motility issue here. I do have miralax on hand but i dont want to use it long term, and it seems we're having this issue off and on for months now.

In the RadCat raw catfood i get, one of the ingredients is psyllium husk.

I have some Vetasyl, which i have used in the past with good results. It is psyllium seed husks with 5% barley malt extract.

Should i be worried about the barley malt extract having any affect on BG?

Should be fine:
What is barley malt extract?
The malt in barley malt extract or Maltsupex comes from sprouted barley. It is then concentrated into a soluble fiber. As such it has similar properties to other soluble fibers such as psyllium (Metamucil), oats and the pectin in fruits. This means it acts to create stool bulk. Beneficial bacteria in the colon use this fiber for food. If you have a great deal of gas-forming bacteria it may increase bloating and intestinal gas. Finally, the malt mixture does contain calories.
