GA Bandit update 7/2/2021

I have not been able to talk to the vet yet. But when I called to get an update I was told there was no change from yesterday. The vet is supposed to call me later.

I know he did not eat last night. When I went to see him, he was meowing like he was uncomfortable or in pain and licking his lips. I did tell the vet this when I saw her. I am not sure if when he ate yesterday it was because he ate too much too soon or if something else is going on. I did tell them that if he does not eat this morning to go ahead and put him on a feeding tube.

I am also going to ask for them to run the test for pancreatitis. I mentioned it last night but the vet said the treatment he is getting is the same one he would have if he does have it. But from my research, if he does have it, that also means I will also need know since it will affect the care I give him when he comes home.

Keep the prayers coming. I don't expect that he will be released today but at least from the info they gave me, he does appear to be stable.

I will post another update when I have more information.
 
Just talked to the vet. His WBC is still improving. There is a little change in the kidney values but not enough where she is concerned right now. He did get 1 unit of Semglee last night and that seems to be holding his BG in the mid 100s.

He did not eat again this morning so they are going to insert the feeding tube. She is also going to do an ultrasound and the pancreatitis test.
 
We lost Bandit.

He had a stoke a little while ago and did not survive.

I am so deeply sorry for you and for sweet Bandit who had a chance at a wonderfully, loving home. Thank you for your efforts to give him the care and love he deserved. My deepest condolences.

Oh my goodness - so sorry to hear this news. I can only imagine your emotions, Lisa :bighug::bighug::bighug: Many, many hugs. Bandit was so lucky to have you come into his life and provide the best care he could ask for. Fly high sweet Bandit cat_wings>o
 
I'm so sorry to hear this, I have been following your updates and am so saddened by the loss. You fought for bandit and I'm sure he will watch over you from his new home. You are a beautiful soul. Big hugs and love from Florida :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Jesus Chri*t ! I am so so sorry Lisa , Such a handsome boy. You just got this poor baby.
So many kitties have passed in the last couple of weeks and it makes me sick to my stomach. My heart is just breaking for you and others .♥

I'm so sorry. I was following along with this story, but didn't comment. I'm so heart broken for you, since you JUST got him.

Thank you for taking a chance in him, and giving him what love you could while he was here.

I'm always amazed by the generosity and sheer kindness of people on this board to seek out and help these creatures plagued with this awful disease.

You both fought so hard. My heart is breaking along with yours. I think Bandit knew from the time you picked him up to now that he was loved. Our kitties at the Bridge will welcome him with head butts.
 
I'm so sorry. I've been following Bandit's updates and was hoping and praying that he'd get better. You gave your sweet boy so much love and did everything you could to save him. My heart is breaking for you. (((Love and hugs)))

I was so sure that Bandit was a little trooper who was going to make it. You went above "above and beyond" for this little guy. Look after yourself in the coming days. They won't be easy. :bighug:
 
What a dreadful heartbreak this must be for you. Bless you for the new home you gave this little guy, and all your love and care
 
I am so sorry Lisa. Just sad for the loss, and hope you recover from all the exhausting highs and lows.
Many of us already loved your new adorably marked Bandit. Prayers just aren't always answered the way we want.
