Bam AMPS 168 did not shoot, was that the right decision?

Hi, Bam's AMPS was 168 and I did not shoot. I had to leave for work and I was afraid he'd go too low since he was low the last few mornings. My husband tested again in half an hour and he was at 184, did not shoot since he was still under 200. Were those the correct decisions to make? Just want to be sure before tomorrow AM. We just tested PMPS and he was at 485. Also, I tested for ketones on Sunday and the test was negative. How often should I test? Thanks.

Once you figure out when Bam's nadir is (lowest part of the cycle), you can test around that time in the day & eve (most cats do drop lower at night). What I did at first was to drink a big glass of water before I went to bed so nature called and I had to get up anyway.

For starters. you will need to find a dose you can stick with and shoot every 12 hours. That will provide you with a foundation to build your knowledge of how Bam responds to Lantus.

Since dose decisions, up or down, are based on nadir, you will need to get an idea when nadir occurs for Bam.
It is also important to determine onset, and duration.
