A tornado hit our neighborhood today--it is really bad. Homes are totally demolished. So, we are lucky to be okay.

Kitty's numbers are about as bad. Her amps was 450 and I gave 3 units-- i was expecting a pmps in the pinks-- wishful thinking. I had to test her by candlelight -- pmps 470. I shot 3 units again. If she is this high in the morning, I will move to 3.5. I hope this high pmps was a spike at the end of the cycle.

We hope tomorrow is better in a l of ways.

I am open minded and would appreciate any dosing advice.

Thanks!

Oh my, glad you are ok! I'm in VA & we are getting thunderstoms right now. If you don't mind, what part of NC? I'm new here so I can't even begin to give any advice! LOL!

Near Raleigh-- it has been a terrible day. The storms are hitting our coast now.

I'm about 45 mins. from Va Beach & apparently there is damage all around us...I wasn't paying attention. It is pouring now, glad I got the insulin shot in & got them fed in case the power goes! Stay safe!

That is so horrible,
saying a prayer for everyone,

I hope you both will have a better day tomrrow
Hang in there!

A fire has just broken out-- caused by a downed power line. There are firetrucks everywhere. It is completely dark and all you can hear are sirens. It is awful.

How long will the insulin be okay? It is In the fridge-- but I am thinking we will be without power for awhile. Should I put it in a cooler?

Yikes! It's probably ok for a few hours since the fridge should still stay somewhat cold. If you do opt to chill it somehow, be sure not to let it freeze.

oh my...these natural disasters are soooo scary!
as for your insulin please keep in in a container of some sort with cold packs but not touching them. maybe wrap it in so paper. depending on how long the power is out. you don't want to lose your insulin!

I am so glad you are o.k.
Fridge will stay cold awhile if the door is kept shut. We were out power for 3 weeks in 2004 during the year of 4 hurricanes in a 1 month period and my fridge stayed pretty cold for over a day.
Wrap the insulin in some bubble wrap and then put it in a container before you put in the cooler.
You think Kitty's PM number could have been stress related from storms and loud noises?

I wouldn't up the dose until things settle down, one of the hardest things is not to chase the numbers. I agree that the storms and power outages are causing stress for you and kitty, I would sit on the 3u dose for this moment. Prozinc likes consistency and hates it when you jump around. I hope you are okay and stay safe. I am a native Californian and we don't do weather but I can sympathize with the stress of it all. My good vibes are headed your way.

Glad to hear you guys are ok. My parent's and grandparent's house fared well too. The higher numbers are probably her reaction to the bad weather. Animals sense that kind of thing a lot more than we can. The storms probably really unnerved her. I hope her numbers come down today for you!

Oh my! So glad you and Kitty are safe and so sorry to hear about all the damage the tornado and storm caused. Super scary! I really hope today is a better day.

Oh Kim, I am so glad you guys are ok. So sorry you have to deal with all this weather craziness. Hopefully you will get power soon!
Sending you guys some light and love!
