Bad cat nutrition advice from Dr. Oz site

RealAge.com, a Dr. Oz associated site, seems to have expanded into pet health with CatAge and DogAge. OK.

What a surprise, commercial pet food companies are the "experts" and give advice like "CatAge advises against feeding your cat raw or cooked meat; raw meats may contain parasites and cooked meats tend to be high in fat." This really bad advice comes right after stating cats are true carnivores. And what do they think true carnivores eat? And commercial foods (dry is recommended over wet) aren't high in fat?

Give me a break.

As you know, Giz danced for four years and fried two George Foreman Grills after being diagnosed at age 14. She liked meat.

Yes, the only actual cat food she'd eat was DM dry; but, always remember, she had special dispensation from Dr. Lisa...



Perhaps we should tell Dr. Oz he is misinformed. Or, he has no clue what life is like dancing with a sugar cat. Or any cat.

Perhaps we should tell Dr. Oz to not go where he is not trained. Perhaps we should tell Dr. Oz to forgo the residuals he is getting from the commercial pet food companies...




Nikki graced my heart 3-1/2 years ago. She arrived with a couple of cans of low carb food and a bag and a half of DM dry. The dry food was immediately donated to a local shelter. Until this past Valentine's Day evening when my meter battery died and I subsequently found out I'd shot her full dose and she was 51, she hadn't crunched dry food, graciously provided by my landlords because I was nuts with worry. It took us both three days to get her back into the lowish 100s...

I wouldn't have danced with Giz another four years without you and the FDMB. And, Giz, wouldn't have sent me Nikki...

PS: Nikki returned Rusty (my landlords' cat) the favor with three cans of low carb FF... For some reason, my landlord said, "I just want you to know, Deb, Rusty gets both wet and dry food now."

This I the same guy who claims there are high levels of arsenic in apple juice even after the FDA tried to explain to him the difference between organic and inorganic. He's a quack
