OMGosh skittles breath smells so bad! and he freaks out if he cant touch ur check with his face! Im talking really freaking out! if u dont look him in the eyes, he takes his paw and will keep hitting your face until u look at him! I checked his teeth last week and his gums are red at all his canine teeth, BUT his vet said he can NOT have a cleaning yet with his numbers
Havent been able to catch him in the litterbox for a keto test. His numbers havent been that high lately so Im not sure about keto's anyway. since switching to can food his doesnt pee as much at all! and his water drinking has cut down a lot too!
Sherri, You might want to talk with @Bobbie And Bubba about higher BG #s @ time of a dental visit; because if you look at Bubba's SS on date of his dental (9/17/15), you'll see that his numbers were actually higher than Skittles' #s are now! You may want to revisit this with your vet about getting his dental work done, as dental inflammation (which you already know is going on with Skittles) can really keep your kitty's BG #s spiking much higher. And you'll likely see those numbers come down after his dental problems are corrected and any inflammation/infection is gone.
Hey Sherri, Bubba had two really bad teeth and lots of inflammation due to tarter buildup so, back in Sept (9/17) he had a cleaning and two extractions. His number did start to come down afterwards. You can see by his SS. He was starting to have pain with the teeth, I could tell by the way he would turn his head while he ate to try to move the food off the hurting teeth. The pain and the inflammation are enough to keep his BG higher than it needs to be. I would advice getting it taken care of ASAP. Plus, his breath will be so much better.
Already decided to do that for sure after what happened last Thursday. She said that the way his levels are she didn't want to do anything for now. But Im still switching. i wish i could go back to the place i worked but we ended on bad terms because the senior vet's ( and owner) nurse had it out for me and the day it all went down she threaten me. She was still jealous over the fact that my ex-husband dumped her for me almost 30 years prior! she made it hell there. She has also caused one of the other vets to quit plus numerous other people. the owner tried to deny my underemployment so we had a hearing where everything came out and I won. I now live very close to the clinic and so want my job back! I left there in 2007.....
