A home house call vet told me Wed that you CAN give cats a baby 81 mg aspirin for inflammation and pain once every 3 days..he said he saw a PDF file on THIS website on it...anybody know anything about this? Thanks!

Alan

not sure on the specifics in regards to using it in cats in general but i have a young heart kitty (approx 1 yr old) that gets 1/4 of an 81mg baby aspirin every other day to help prevent clots

i'm pretty sure i've seen other kitties here that get it too, just can't remember how much or how often

Yes....one baby aspirin every 2-3 days.

Cats metabolize aspirin much more slowly than humans...thus the
spread out dose.

My Marbles got aspirin for arthritic pain. She lived to age 21.

Dude has had a problem in the past with Buprenex and just last week when I needed something for pain for him, my vet told me also - 1/2 baby aspirin every three days - no more.
