Babee needs your kitty prayers

Babee stopped eating completely this morning and I didn't give her insulin. Her BG was 306. Vet had me rush her to the ER and she was admitted. They found some huge abnormal changes in her pancreas and drew some fluid from the area. They are checking to see if its just inflamation or something else. What else could it be? I am so stressed and upset now. She will be in the hospital for at least 2 nights. The vet says his gut feeling is that is a very severe flare of pancreastitis, but they need to confirm.

Please say kitty prayers for her. She is such a sweet girl and doesn't deserve this.

Thanks

Kelly & Babee

pancreatitis will do that - it is painful, and the cat won't want to eat.
3 staples of pancreatitis treatment:
fluids <- because it helps
insulin <- to manage the glucose levels
PAIN RELIEF <- insist on this for pancreatitis

maybe change your subject to ask about Acute Pancreatitis attack, Babee in ER

Get some eyes on your post and who can tell you what needs to be done once Babee comes home again.

Good luck on positive news and recovery. Pancreatitis is treatable at home with fluids and pain meds, and something for nausea.

the 3 most important things to treat pancreatitis:
fluids
meds for pain - pancreatitis is extremely painful ... get burprenex to give at home
meds for nausea - you can give pepcid, 1/4tab of regular 10mg Pepcid AC twice a day, or maybe a stronger even antiemetic if very nauseous and vomiting.

Insulin is needed for the diabetes, but the above 3 are vital for treating pancreatitis.
It may be an idea to discuss your giving B12 shots at home, as my Shadoe had frequent issues with inflamed pancreas and chronic pancreatitis which has lessened to rare after giving her weekly B12 shots.

My prayers go out to Babee and of course to you too. I feel so bad for your little kitty. I hope she feels better very soon,

My prayers are with you. In hind-sight, I realize that a few times, the ONLY way an animal I had in my care survived was by the grace of God and His miracles. I know Miracles exist, for I've received them. My prayers and trust is in God for Babee and you.

I'm saying prayers for Babee to make a full and quick recovery.

I would change the Subject Line in your first post as suggested above, to get more experienced eyes.
