I really haven't researched any automatic feeders yet, but I'd like to buy one.

Anyone have any recommendations for specific brands? And where did you find it?

Thanks.

My favorite is the PetSafe5, Ginny. You can get it online or at PetSmart. Little expensive, but the only one my cats can't break into. Easy to program, with 5 slots so you can feed small frequent meals day or night.

Another vote for the PetSafe 5 compartment feeder :thumbup I have two, both bought at PetSmart. Easy to program meal times, quiet, cat-proof. http://www.petsafe.net/Products/Feed-an ... matic.aspx

I also have a PetSafe 2 compartment one as back-up. It's noisy (manual timer dial ticks away annoyingly which may scare some cats), too lightweight (cats can push/flip it around), and too flimy in general (cats can easily pop the lids right off to get to the food).

I had the Petsafe 5, and Bandit broke into it in no time, so not completely cat-proof. I went through another auto feeder that he destroyed before I finally settled on this one: http://www.amazon.com/Petself-Elect...22/ref=sr_1_28?ie=UTF8&qid=1288975111&sr=1-28

Bandit couldn't break into it, and believe me, he tried. Only thing is that some might find the timer difficult to program...I never had a problem figuring it out but some people in my house did.
